As chief investment officer, Andy leads the fixed income portfolio management team, guiding the strategic direction of the firm’s portfolios. He is responsible for asset allocation decisions and fundamental research across CCM’s mutual funds and separately managed accounts. Andy also oversees the team’s economic analysis, cash flow modeling, and return forecasting. Andy is a member of the firm’s Impact and CRA Committee, Investment, Trading & Valuation Committee, and Management Committee.
Biography:
Andy began his career at BlackRock Financial Management in New York City, spending a decade as a fixed income portfolio manager. He started in the portfolio risk and quantitative analysis group as an alternative investment portfolio analyst, focusing on hedge funds, commercial mortgage REITs, private equity, and CDOs. He quickly advanced to BlackRock’s portfolio management team, where he managed $200 billion in multisector relative value separate account portfolios. Andy also led the $6 billion fundamental fixed income Canadian dollar separate account business and was a member of BlackRock’s investment strategy group. After leaving BlackRock, Andy relocated to sunny South Florida, where he joined Mercantil Commercebank as a portfolio manager. There, he managed the bank’s $2.25 billion mortgage-backed securities portfolio, which included pass-throughs, CMOs, hybrid arms, and HECMs. He also developed the bank’s $450 million non-agency CMBS investment platform, building its research, analytics, and security selection framework. Andy serves as a board of director on the Pennsylvania State University Sustainability board and Scale Link, a community development financial institution. Andy received his B.S. in Finance, with distinction, from Pennsylvania State University.
